A spectacular retreat designed for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to cultivate meaningful relationships, learn recreation and art skills, and spend time immersed in nature and community.

Each suite sleeps up to 8 so bring your sister, mom, dad, and both of your grandmas!

ACTIVITIES

Adaptive Biking


With help from Outdoors for All, families will use adaptive bikes to travel around Tierra Retreat's beautiful property. Both Retreat Sessions will enjoy this activity! To learn more about Outdoors for All, click here.




Whitewater Rafting


Families will raft the Wenatchee River with Orion Rafting! By July, the river will be at a low flow, giving access to our participants to have a fun and safe float down the beautiful scenic Wenatchee River. Session Two will get to embark on this river trip. Arts and Crafts


Local artists will teach classes to families throughout the retreat. We will learn how to paint with watercolor and acrylic paints, how to draw inspiration from nature, and few surprise techniques!




Parents Night Out


Relax and connect with other parents and care partners with a Parents Night Out at Eagle Creek Winery in Leavenworth, Washington. Other family members will have a separate scheduled activity at Tierra Retreat Center. Each session will include one Parents Night Out.




Hula Lesson and Performance


Momi Palmieri will bring hula to Tierra Family Retreat for Session Two. Families will learn traditional Hawaiian Hula and will enjoy a performance. Momi began studying Hula in 1977 where she lived in Hawaii. This activity will be held during Session Two. She currently lives in Leavenworth and generously donated this class and performance. Low Ropes Challenge Course


Located at Tierra Learning Center, families will practice their teamwork and communication skills to successfully complete the Low Ropes Challenge Course. This activity will be facilitated by trained Challenge Course professionals to ensure the safety of all individuals.




Optional Activities


Families will enjoy yoga classes, hiking, field games like frisbee, berry picking, swimming, and mini-golf.

There are limited scholarships available upon request.
